Hi Everyone,
Is anyone bringing in caladium or coleus yet? When do you normally do this for tender plants?
Thanks

Caladiums are hardy in parts of the city, or so I've heard, if you've got them in a protected location away from heavy wind that doesn't get soggy during the winter, and you pile a couple of inches of mulch on top of the bulbs after the leaves die down. If you don't want to roll the dice on your microclimate (or globally-warmed weather patterns), you can dig 'em up anytime before temps get down into the low 30s. Coleus tends to start looking really sad after a couple of nights in the 40s, again depending on where they're planted, so either bring them in a week or two from now or take cuttings to root over the winter. Others with more direct experience, please give a holler if I'm off base here. Jim

Thanks for the advice, Jim. Good to know those temps before they hit. George

It was 37 degrees last night,I'm bringing all my outside plants in, and I'm taking cutings from my geranium to keep alive inside!
