| Hi. I am so happy to find a forum that has some local gardeners. I live on the south shore of suffolk county, bordering nassau.
I love gardening, roses, lilacs, daylilys, peonies, hummingbird attracting flowers, etc...
Please check in and tell me what type of gardening you like, and are there any local plant swaps, get-togethers, garden clubs??
Thanks
Maureen |

| Hi Jannie. I have also heard that there is a garden club in Patchogue. I'll have to look into it further. It's just that patchogue is not around the corner, if you know what I mean. But hey, at least it seems there is one within driving distance. I'll let you know if I find anything out about it. Maureen |

| Me, too. I don't really know the Patchogue area. I am more familiar with Huntington-Smithtown-Commack area. Would like to meet gardeners closer to my town. |

Hi everyone, I'm new here, also new at gardening. Please maybe someone could help me out. I planted Dutch Iris bulbs the first days of October (like the bag said). They bloom in early summer. Mine are coming up already! some are over a inch tall. I planted them about 6 inches deep. I've worked for hours & now I don't know whats going to happen. Should I dig them up? Will they ever bloom? Will they die? Please tell me what you think..... Thanks shinebrite39 Going nuts in Island Park |

| Iris like to be close to the surface sometimes when you palnt them the will bloom following year. Greens come up first then stalk then flower |
