transplant lyland cypress, bulbs & Dahalias

Several questions:

1: Can you tell me when's a good time to plant fall bulbs?
2: Dahalia's, do I need to dig them up and store the roots for next year, or can I leave them in the ground year round?
3: My lyland Cypress trees are 3 feet tall and I need to space them further apart is now a good time to dig them up and re-plant them or when should this be done.
Thank you
Ken

Hi Ken-

Leylands are a very sensitive tree which do not like to be disturbed. If you are going to attempt this-the best time is in Fall but you will have to give them a lot of water throughout the winter and use a treatment of Bio-Pack nutrients and helpful bacteria and maybe even an anti-desicant (Wilt-Proof)to prevent drying out. There is no guarantee they will survive the move-but good luck. Fall bulbs should be planted by frost. Dahalias need to be dug up and stored.
