Joining a Community Garden

I know this may be a little off topic, but I'm wondering how I would go about joining/getting community garden space. I live in Brooklyn, and have tried some google searches, but haven't come up with anything. Thanks!

go to cenyc.org and check out the greening program. they have a list of community gardens & can probably put you in touch with one in your area.
