Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you have had any ripe tomatoes yet? I have a couple that are just starting to color. I cant tell you how I am dying for a BLT, don't eat them all winter since store tomatoes are terrible.

| I have been eating Tomatoes from my Forth of July Tomatoe plants since the end of June. The tomatoes are small but hey, anything this early from your own garden is not to be complained about. Also got afew tomatoes from a Huskey Red and some Early Girls that I have. All the other varieties don't seem to be anywhere near getting ripe though all growing like crazy this year. |

| I'm eating a few Sungolds and Sweet One Millions. Unfortunately, a lot of them split because of all the recent rain. Still, I can't complain about the rain -- a few split cherry tomatoes is a small price to pay! |

Hi Gordon, One year I had cherry tomatoes up to my chin, so as the saying goes, if you get a lemon make lemonaid. I made a ton of the sweetest tomato sauce going. Roasting them with a little olive oil and garlic is a treat too, just spread it on some toasted french bread. Can't wait. Stella PS: dont bother to skin them, skin is soft. |

I have had a Asian Eggplant bumper crop but only 2 yellow plum tomatoes so far. Yellow summer squash sadly has fallen due to squash vine borer (as it does every year). Habanero's almost ready to pick and Cubanelle peppers growing great. Stella |

| Just picked the last of my ripened tomatoes the other day. I doubt any more will get red but there are still green ones on some of the vines. I must say, this has been a banner year for tomatoes for me as I have been eating them steady from the end of June till now, the end of October. |

Rita, yesterday I picked 75 cherry tomatoes from the vine that volunteered itself along side the compost bin, that tomato seeds Mama didn't raise a fool. That vine is over 6'wide and just as tall. Tomatoes were not as sweet as they were the week before, guess the sweetness comes with the warmer weather. For sure I will save some of those seeds. Stella |
