Hi,

Does anyone know of a good source for slate pavers in the NYC area, preferably a place that will deliver to Brooklyn? TIA.

Melanie

RE: Source for slate pavers in NYC?

Hi Melanie,
I had this in my notes from another forum. This is someone else's response to the same type of question. I don't know how reliable it is, but hope it helps you out :-)...

"For your basic pavers you can also try Kings Building supply- there's one on 39th street and a sister store on 15th Ave. I forget which one carries the pavers. They have more colors/styles than the home centers. Plus, they carry belgian block for edging. For just stone and sand and a few paver choices, All Boro Building Supplies 718 858 7600 on 3rd street and 3rd Ave. The building supply places are MUCH cheaper than home centers for commodity items like sand, gravel, crushed stone and moderately cheaper for pavers.
One thing to ask up front is about delivery charges and times. Sometimes there is a minimum of $75 or so. Trust me - you will not be driving the stuff home in your SUV unless you are making a million trips. If you get all the materials you need at one place, it will probably be more cost effective. But the delivery guys are not going to help you get that stuff from the front of the brownstone to the backyard. Curbside delivery only in most cases, so you better have a group of some real good friends with you on delivery day. Invest in a good handtruck or a quality wheelbarrow- no plastic Home Despot specials."
