Lets start early-Peconic Herb Farm Trip

July 8th is the scheduled trip for the Peconic River Herb Farm.

This is a really nice rural style nursery. It is mostly outdoors with a few hoop houses and out buildings. There is a wide selection of perennials, annuals, tropicals, shrubs & trees. The layout has a relaxed rambling atmosphere. Paths are laid out in sunny and shady that encourage you to wander around leisurely. Peconic is a lovely family run business that employs knowledgeable caring staff members. I have bought several trees here (with consultation from the owner) and my travel buddies bought annuals and perennials. There is a view of the Peconic river with shaded tables and chairs to relax in. It is a nice place to visit and shop.

The farm is located at exit 71 off the LIE. It takes me about an hour and half to get there from Oceanside, but the trip is worth it. Also another exit past, is the LI Perennial farm. I don’t have any info about the place, but it could be a two in one trip with some planning.

If you would like to go, but won’t be around, sing out, we can always reschedule.

Hope to hear from everyone…..
Candace

I am back, but can't make the trip (granddaughter's birthday party). Definitely interested in future trips and events. I was happy to see all of the effort going into putting the e-mail list together. I think it will be more effective in communicating details of specific events than multiple postings on the garden web. Marci, still a typo on that last list (ooptonline).
