| I am not a delphinium specialist. However, I successfully grew standard delphiniums on a south facing roof terrace for many years (beyond even their relatively short expected lifetime), so I don't think sun is your problem. I am new to this list so don't have a sense of your gardening expertise from prior posts, so please forgive me for asking about your experience level. If you are a new gardener, one of the singular things that people aren't aware of is that the roots of many purchased perennials and annuals (or even plants grown from seed at home) become "bound", and must be broken up before planting for the plant to thrive.
