Where to buy pond plants in NYC??

Hi

I live in Manhattan. I used to own a car and would go out to e.g. Scherer's, Hick's, Viette's, etc., to buy pond plants.
However I am now carless and going crazy trying to buy pond plants.

I've ordered a couple on the internet but they haven't been shipped yet and I would like some immediate gratification.

Does anybody know of any place that has pond plants that's accessible by subway (or even ferry, if there's a place on Staten Island)?

Chelsea Garden Center has a dormant water lily in a box, but it sounds too depressing to wait for it to grow

Thanks.

HI Liz..
Well you are in LUCK..
Out in RedHook Brooklyn..at the Liberty Sunset Garden center theyhave some pond plants... got a few bunches of water hyacenth today.. big ;arge bunches.. looking like they are about to brust into flower any moment now...and they have a few other kinds there... I didn't see any of the water lettuce they had before..
see their site for bus directions. or get in touch with me.. I can drop you down there ... from my place on the "F" line ..Carroll Gardens stop or Google Fairway.. they should have directions by bus to the RedHook store.. Liberty Sunset is just across a small park from them there.. Gordon 917-769-1093
