Very pretty yard, lychee. What is that red flowering plant that is climbing up the little trellis from the pot? I am looking for a flowering and climbing plant that is drought tolerant. I'm trying to cover an expanding willow fence with something that can survive growing out of a window box on my roof. Any ideas? Is that plant a perennial?

I'll check the tag when I get home- i would bet that it is not hardy in NY- most of the really pretty vines are not hardy in NY.

You could go for one a dozen honey suckle varieties. I have one growing in my back yard out of a large pot. Its the earliest plant to come out of dormancy each year. Its very vigorous. The aphids love it however, so it has to be sprayed. I'll send you a photo of it when it is in bloom. (should be a week or so from now).
