| You can buy it locally at hydroponics stores, such as Indoor Outdoor Gardener in Brooklyn (the most subway-accessible). A very good mail-order source is Home Harvest in Maryland; it usually arrives the next day by ground shipment. I used to use Earth Juice regularly, but it got to be a hassle to mix all the different types (Grow, Bloom, etc.) for each plant, and you can't use it with drip irrigation. What seems to work just as well is a mixture of Greenmarket compost (worm castings), bone meal, and greensand or kelp meal, worked into the soil before planting or at the start of each season. That seems to supply a season's worth of organic nutrients; no need to fertilize with each watering. Mix those ingredients about 4:2:1, then apply half a cup to one cup per gallon of potting soil. |
