Orchid Growers/Farms/Nurseries on Long Island?

| I'm going to be on Long Island (in the area of Medford to Riverhead) in 2 weeks and want to find out if there are any orchid farms/growers/nurseries in the area? Thanks. |

| The only one I know of is on the site of the old, and much missed, Roslyn Nursery in Dix Hills, but I don't know the name or address and it didn't seem to be open to the public last time I was there. Rita Cohen has retired from her nursery, Orchid Art, so perhaps your best option is to call one or two of the regular plant nurseries that you're planning to visit and see if they know of any growers, you never know! | Well...there is a contact link. It couldn't hurt to shoot an email off. They would certainly be the ones who would know. Worse case, they just won't respond, you really have nothing to lose, IMO. |

| Edna at Green Gardens Nursery (East Northport, NY 16 Burr Road, East Northport, NY 11731-5332 - Phone: (631) 499-4235)has been around forever and has a large orchid greehouse as well as a wide variety of orchid related supplie, etc. She is not a computer person and has no web site. She is also an excellent source for bromilliads, Bonsai and cryptanthus as well as many other types |
