| It is time to plan our trip out to the Peconic River Herb Farm. www.prherbfarm.com If you did not make it last year, please come! the place is wonderful, plants, trees and shrubs for all. Shade, sun, ground covers, container plants, vegetable starts and more! This is a great trip, a little shopping, bring a picnic lunch and the company of your fellow gardeners!
The trip will be Sunday, June 3rd (yes this is the weekend following Memorial day). We will meet in Huntington, and pick up our NYC members at the Huntington train station. We would like to plan this as an early morning trip and meet around 9am, the train will come in at 9:15am.
Additionally, there are 2 places out there that we could swing a visit to one or the other.
1) The lavender farm in East Marion www.lavenderbythebay.com
2) The Long Island Perennial Farm in Riverhead www.liperennialfarm.com
Please remember that the Peconic River Herb farm is entirely outdoors, so please plan accordingly
Please RSVP if you are interested in going with us.
Thanks-
Candace
PS - we are trolling for ideas for the summer, so if you have anyplace you would like to go, please let me know.

| I hope I can bum a ride. My car was hit from behind and it's going into the repair shop this Friday. They estimate it'll be out of serice 3 to 4 weeks. |

| Hey Jan! Marci was figuring on picking you up, I believe. We will be sure to figure it into the schedule. Are you okay? I know quite a few folks who have sustained neck/back injuries from being rear ended. Hope you had a good vacation- bring pictures to show us over the picnic lunch. -Candace |

| My neck and back are fine. It wasn't a real hard hit, but it was a Ford truck that hit me and my car's rear end looks pretty sad. The trunk won't close. I'm fine. Thanks for asking. |

| Glad to hear you are okay. That is what is really important. I'll double check with Marci about picking you up. She will be back in town sometime saturday. Have a good Weekend! Candace |

| Hey guys, I'm going out on my own to Peconic River Herb Farm on Tuesday May 27. I know Marci and Candy are in Alaska and Barb's in england. There's a plant sale in Farmingdale next weekend. When everybody is back, let's plan something together. remember the "meetings" we had at Spoons Coffee in Lindenhurst and that Pancake Restaurant in East Norwich? Maybe we could get together at one of those? |

| We (DH and I) we went Tuesday May 27 2008 as planned. Peconic River Herb Farm boasts 700+ kinds of plants. We walked all around, settled on five to buy , two tomatoes and three herbs. Then walked to the part of the property on the Peconic River, where they have picnic tables and chairs. Very peaceful and calm,it was a beautiful sunny day, not too hot. We both had a great visit, and wouldn't mind going again. |

sorry i couldn't make it for this trip! if anyone is making road trips in the future to decent garden centers from nyc i would love to tag along. some of you may know i've had several moving traumas in brooklyn and am on my 3rd rental backyard overhaul. so i'm totally broke and without car access and of course supplies and prices are lousy and expensive locally. i used to love getting "coast of maine" organic products at dee's in oceanside a few times a year but i can't justify the car rental anymore on my own. but it would be fun, "green", and cost-efficient to carpool with a driver or share a group zipcar. btw just posted to the exchange list also... not much activity there so i figured it wouldn't hurtto bring some attention to it! |
