Giving up on grass--where to get flagstones?

Posted by dirty_toes Bklyn (My Page) on

My kids are using the backyard more and more so I can't maintain a central swath of grass like previous years. Where can I find naturally shaped large pieces of flagstone? I need to cover a 7 ft x 16 foot area, sparsely, and plant some grass/irish moss/creeping thyme or something between. If you know someone who can deliver, level the ground and lay the flagstone at a reasonable price, I'd be interested as well.

Thanks, Mina

I just got pavers from a great place called Glenwood Mason Supply (http://www.glenwoodmason.com/). Not sure if they have exactly what you are describing but they had almost every sort of pored stone I have ever seen. For labor, I have had great luck with putting a posting up on craigslist under the labor gigs and gotten more than 20 responses each time.
