 o
indoor lavender help

I bought a potted lavender plant (6 inch pot) at the Union Square greenmarket just three days ago. It smells divine, I already want more..but I'm afraid it is dying. It is already in bloom, but the foliage is looking droopy. Have watered it once in the last three days, all the information I can find on lavender says they don't like overwatering.

Any indoor lavender magicians around who can tell me how to keep this one going?

Also I have read that they don't like fertilizer, but mine looks like it could use some help.

You can probably tell I am rather new to indoor gardening. Would appreciate any tips.

My mom has a potted lavendar growing indoors. It thrives on neglect. I think she waters it about once in two weeks. It is kept it a hot, dusty, heated room. She never fertilizes. It looks just fine.

Lavender needs as much direct sun as possible and should be kept on the dry side. Fertilizer will hinder the fragrance...about every three weeks or so in summer use fish emulsion diluted at 1/2 of the recommended strength, after you have watered thoroughly.

Enjoy the heavenly fragrance!
