| Hello Everyone;
I was recently chastised for not posting some photos of our trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for the Cherry festival.
I certainly learned a few things that trip.
1) If you want to see a specific plant in bloom, go when they are blooming, not when the festival is. The best time to see the cherry blossoms was the week before the festival. When we went, most of the trees had finished blooming. This included the magnolias.
2) Getting there early is good. But if you want to see the show, you need to park yourself in front of the stage and don’t move.
3) Always bring more camera batteries. Opps!
We left about 2:30pm and headed over to Red Hook to check out (2) nurseries. There is going to be a really nice one down by Pier 41. I cant wait until it opens, it is going to be a real treat. Incidentally, there is a place right there that sells key lime pies. Very tasty.
