Trailing Geranium

| Every summer I look for the red geraniums that I saw in Switzerland in practically every windowbox when we visited 5 years ago. I have a difficult time finding them here and most people think that I am referring to the standard ivy geranium that is sold everywhere. Does anyone know where I can find what i am referring to? It is red and has more of a lacy look to it. I read in another forum here that someone purchased one and it was labeled as "Austrian Trailing Geranium" . The only reference to purchasing was at Ricter's and there were a number of posts saying "Buyer beware!" PLUS it would be from seed. If I could find the correct name and where on Long Island I could purchase them I would be thrilled!
Thanks in advance,

| I can't say I've seen what you're looking for, but there is another beautiful hardy geranium 'Ann Folkard' that is a deep purply-pink that isn't too hard to find. good luck |

| I think they're called "Balcon Geraniums" here. Thompson and Morgan sells seed, but I have not seen plants for sale. Best, Jen |

| Atlantic Nursery in Freeport gets some with their regular ivy shipment. Call first to see if they have them - they get ivys in once or twice a week in season. |
