 o
how to build a small garden spot on top of concrete

I own a high ranch (also named as raised ranch, on right side of the front stair, there is a small space, about 6' by 3', I like to use this space for flowering. But concern about the leaking of water to my house wall.
Did some one has the experience of how to take care of this kind of flower bed, what is the best solution to put a flower bed over there.
Thanks.

David

I was thinking that you could use large pots... and then you could see the drainage..
or maybe ...
timbers with a plastic liner.. and a drain out of it in a direction you want it to go...
could almost do a roll out type of drain in the frame..
I am punting here a bit
but since no one had followed up
they can now get in here and tell me how wrong I am..
you could do a wisky planter to get some highth.

enjoy what you do..

I think that Kyshorthaul is correct. My concrete is sloped toward the soil so my containers drain away from the house. The Ky suggestion is quite logical though the plastic liner may mean fungus/mold issues. Good luck! Container gardening is fun for flowers, fruits, vegetables. Try to avoid plates under the containers because that means a breeding place for mosquitos.
