I planted 3 Viburnum tomentosum Mariesii in the fall of 2006. They are in the shade of deciduous trees (that is the shade gets deep when the trees leaf out). They have grown beautifully, beautiful shape, healthy, etc. But their first spring, no flowers. This spring I see buds for only 2 or 3 flowers. I haven't pruned, so I know I didn't cut off the buds. Any ideas?

Mine took a few years before they really began to bloom.

Quite afew years ago, I planted a Shasta and it bloomed well right from the start. But 2 years or so later I planted a Shosoni to pollinate it and that one barely bloomed for two years. Then last year decent bloom. This spring it is so heavily loaded with blooms that I can't believe it. So it does tame time.
