Hello all,
Hard to believe that May is only a week away.
Just wanted to firm things up for our exchange next week May 2.
Caroll Park was suggested by gordonhawk and it sounds good to me.
Gordonhawk, is there a specific place in the park that's a clear landmark?
That just leaves the question of time. I'd like to do it before noon if possible.
And here is my list of what I have---
The following are all plants that have come back after winter:
Bergamot
Coleus (overwintered indoors)
Coral bells (a few different varieties)
Creeping Thyme
Creeping Phlox (Moss Phlox)
Day Lily
Fern Leaf Bleeding Heart (Fringed Leaf Bleeding Heart)
Great Blue Lobelia
Helenium
Hosta
Hydrangea
Lemon Balm
Lily of the Valley
Money Plant
Phlox (Miss Lindgard)
Toad Lily
Vinca Major(Both variegated and solid green)
Here is a list of some extra seedlings I have to spare:
Columbine
Celandine
Bleeding Heart (eximia)
Money plant
Munstead Lavender
Shiso
Sundrops
Please list your name if you are definitely going to make it. Feel free to post or email with specific requests from my list.
Peace
George

Hello Everyone, So far it's Jim, Gordon, and myself. Gerry can't make it and neither can Organic_renter. I have not heard back from Audrey yet. I asked Gordon where is the best place in the park. He said: There is a statue in the adjoining part of the park.. more like an obelisk I guess.. we could always meet there.... So let's make it at the statue/obelisk shortly after 11. Keep checking your email for updates/changes. Peace George |

OK, everyone. With the rain factor, we thought we would keep it simple and meet at the steps of the entrance to the park at Smith and President Streets (This is the closest entrance to the subway stop: F train/ G train) We're shooting for 11 am, though Jim said he might be a little late. Thanks Gordon for making specific requests from my list... it will make it easier for me to know what to bring. I'm bringing some bonus plants/seedlings in case we get any other folks joining us. Still time to join... specific requests to each person helps in preparing the plants to bring. See you at Carroll Park! George |

| Sorry for the no-show, guys -- last-minute crisis with one of my daughters -- ah, the joys of being a soccer Dad! I still have white Datura seedlings, aeschynanthus cuttings, and assorted bits and pieces, you want 'em, you got 'em! Jim |

| Sorry I missed it, too. But I really have nothing to trade this year. I didn't start any seeds this year. I'll get over to Home Depot in a week or so and buy some vegetable and herb plants. Maybe a drive out to Peconic River Herb Farm. |

Thanks Gordon. A great exchange, good conversation... all in all a real success. Maybe we can do a couple of these per year. Gerry, we'll try to organize the next one on a Sunday so you can participate. If anyone still wants anything from my plant list, let me know. I will be dividing plants to make room for some of the good things I got in the exchange from Gordon. Just send me an email and let me know what you'd like to trade and we can arrange the particulars. Happy Gardening George |

what we need is a garden party, then we can just set up a "leave a plant, take a plant" type table :) many things shade tolerant that spread, divide, or self-seed i have in abundance! but i'd like a bit more variety too... anyone going to BBG tomorrow? for the first year in ages i can't make it to the preview, but i'm also still mad how many "bunk" expensive perennials i got last year. @#$!. so no more perennial garden shopping there for me... the garden is small these days anyway.. I'l go Wednesday morning and hope they left me a few needed herbs and veggies as i had no time to seed this year :) |

| Hi George (and anyone else with plants to spare) - I am desperate to get some plants that will do well in shade. If you have any, I would be grateful. All I can offer in return is a few indoor plants that I successfully propagated this winter. Let me know, and thanks! Maggie |
