What are you up to these days?

Well, with the lack of snow and relative warm weather,it was 73 this past Saturday, I got early "spring fever". I went outside with my trusty Felco Pruner and cut down weeds in my herb garden. Everything is brown, but I spotted some healthy rose shoots I planted there about two years ago. I cut down the weeds all around it, so it could get some air and sun. What are you doing this January?

I spent about six weeks creating and planting a huge new bed during the last couple of weeks of November and throughout December. Now I'm transplanting the sod that I removed to create the bed.

I think winter is finally here. It's 9 degrees outside. I am staying indoors today!

I spend some time planning where to put plants in the spring.
ALSO, this is the first year I am trying "wintersowing." It seems like a good way to get a jump on the growing season. I'm a bit afraid that recent freezes will kill some of what I've set out in wintersowing containers, but time will tell and it's a fun experiment.
