The back yard

Here are some of my guests from last year. The houseplants went back in for the winter, I'll bring them outside after it really warms up, hopefully next month. The annuals have moved on to the great beyond... I collected seeds from the red salvia and winter sowed them, but I don't think I did it right, as nothing came up. The pink flowers were self seeded impatients that popped up everywhere for me last year, I just pulled a few off the ground and put them in containers. I see them coming up again this year, but they haven't begun to flower yet.

Aah, that reminds me of what is to come. I admire your saving seeds - I'm too lazy and end-of-year gardener. I didn't know impatients would self seed. Come to think of it, of course they should - I've seen them growing on the sides of the roads in Puerto Rico.

About the ears, when I planted the bulb last year I had no idea what might happen - but was super delighted with the results. I didn't protect the bulb tho' (my end-of-season lethargy) and it rotted over the winter.

This year I've planted 3, including one in my front stoop container. I'm optimistic - or should I say hopeful.

Nice picture Rosana. Gee, wish you had let me know earlier about the red salvia seeds, I save them yearly and had alot that I sent out in swaps. Will (hopefully) have more towards the end of the season.
